SD 2,350–2,367: If you thought July was fast, wait until August is dead and buried!

I got to see a new Gregg Araki movie, I Want Your Sex, in theaters, so that was a great start to the month.

I spent a nice day wandering around Logan Square, doing a reading pub crawl from Pilot Project to Hopewell to Small Bar looking for the ultimate answer. Turns out it’s a cheeseburger.

Sister and her family came to visit for the first time since the pandemic, meaning it was my nephew’s very first visit. We had a very packed itinerary of Art Institute, Millennium Park, Field Museum, Museum of Science & Industry, Chinatown, Architecture Boat Tour, and Medieval Times.

And that was just the first day!

I should probably write about our dim sum experience but maybe that’s better left as an exercise for the reader.

And then the next week I went back to Medieval Times for Derek’s birthday.

Despite being in the green knight cheering section the first time and the red knight the second time both times they ended up being the villain. Rude! Sadly I was unable to maintain my lifestyle of spending every Saturday at Medieval Times.

I did finally make it out for my first bike ride in Chicago this year. Oops.

We had a lot of rain and mugginess, then a brief week or so of nice weather, and now it’s been awful and humid and in the 90s again. Happy September!

Went for dinner at the Taiwanese restaurant Minyoli for the first time, and not only did they have an amazing cocktail menu, they also had Apple Sidra, my beloved!

Oh and the food was good too.

Work’s been hectic but have tried to leave the house occasionally with varying levels of success and blurriness.
