Omaha was good. Sadly my first date didn't pan out, but there are reasons. (I heart you Andy and I hope you are okay, and I definitely hope your friend is doing better.)

So, I got home and with nothing better (that I wanted) to do, I made this:

That's me. Kindergarten – 11th grade. Left to right. Top to botton. It's kind of like watching a bad train wreck unfold. Kindergarten – third seem well and good, but something happens in fourth. From there it's downhill, hitting rock bottom in 8th or 9th. Then it works it's way slowly back up in an odd way.

This is my “default” senior picture for 12th grade:

This is me last week:

My life is righting itself and improving. I'm so glad for that. Things were sad and stupid for so long, and now I can at least work towards some kind of happiness.

I stopped after the first x-mas letter.. oops.
here's excerpts from the next year:
SEASON'S GREETIGNS FROM THE McCULLOCH FAMILY!!!
1987 went something like this……
On Father's Day, Gary decided to go fishing so I took the kids to the zoo in Sioux Falls. On the way back to Brookings the car overheated (it was a very hot, miserable day). I pulled the car over to the side of the road and debated whether or not I should take Brandi and Christopher along to get help. (Both of them were asleep and we were almost back in Brookings.) I decided to wake them up and we got a ride to go call for a tow truck. In the meantime the car spontaneously BURST INTO FLAMES! … To see [Brandi] and Christopher stand there and cry was tough, but I was so thankful I had not left them in the car because there was no way that they could have gotten out. …
We believe Christopher is showing a real interest in archeology. At Hot Springs at the Mammoth Excavation site he dove nose first over the guide rope into the excavation site. He landed face first in the red clay and was wearing it too. I was not too thrilled about carrying him but I didn't trust him on the groudn anymore either.
Gary and I were apprehensive about bringing a 2 year old into the caves. But we decided to try, and braced ourselves for the crying and screaming. We sson found ourselves trying to catch Chris as he ran down narrow, teacherous paths as fast as his little feet could carry him. In the end we went through 4 caves. We decided that we saw more UNDERGROUND in the Black Hills than ABOVE THE GROUND and by the way, Christpher was offered a job as tour guide. …
Christopher is quite a belligerent little boy and not long were we gone before he decided to run around the car the opposite way and fall down right on the license plate of the car. He cut open his forehead near his eye so our trip ended fast as we had to bring him to the emergency room for 5 stitches. …
Christopher started preschool and is making some progress. In spite of the pressure equalization tubes, he is classified as hearing impaired and as a result his speech is delayed. The speech therapist does a good job, so I hope things turn out okay.

Heh… I had 9 stiches for my hand this year and 5 for a head wound… Medicine is funny. (There will be more X-mas letters involving stitches and me.) And.. and.. read the part about me being classified as hearing impaired? So.. don't get mad if I need you to repeat something. Hehe. And.. I go from speech problems to qualifying for nationals in debate.. a speech orientated activity. Ha. Bye bye.
