SD 1883–1924: I need to start doing these more frequently so they are smaller as they now just feel like a task I am putting off. I suppose that means I could stop doing them completely, but I’m not quite there yet!
Ok, let’s see, what have I done since early mid-May.
For starters, I had an early pre-40th birthday colonoscopy extravaganza to celebrate World IBD Day. Clean bill of health! #knowyourstatus

I ate a sandwich. Several in fact.

I drank matcha. Several in fact!

I celebrated a friend’s 40th birthday by going to karaoke at Shakers which I’d never noticed on Clark before.

After many, may years of talking about it I finally went to the market at IML over Memorial Day Weekend and bought a Wario hat I originally saw in the CONvergence vendor area years ago.

There were also drag queens selling Pharma present.

Yann came to visit again and we had a lovely dinner at Reno with Andy followed by boardgames at Navigator Taproom. It turned out to be some sort of cybersecurity networking event. Turns out the trick to talking to people at a networking event is to bring a boardgame and show no interest in talking to anyone. Here is a great photo I took to capture the moment.

Then I had brunch. Several times in fact!

On the Saturday before my actual birthday at the end of May I had a big totally surprise that I knew nothing whatsoever about party at Logan Arcade. It was really great! Saw lots of friends I haven’t seen for awhile. Got to play actual 5v5 Killer Queen with friends. I was sadly too busy having fun to take any photos, but here are some cake shots snapped by Derek.

It finally got warm so I wore shorts to the office to celebrate being 40. Only once so far this year though.

In the most important news of all, the new couch finally arrived. Dane for scale.

New throw pillows still say it’ll be a month before they arrive which is crazy. In the market for a new rug that goes with the couch.
The environment continues its collapse, but the haze is kind of #aesthetic.

I have been spotted in Sidetracks, the video bar, where there’s never a cover, social media. Woof! (It’s dog days. Get it?)

I went to see Shakin’ the Mess Outta Misery by myself at Pegasus which was a great production. Still doing a spot of graphic design for them.

Here’s Matt and me celebrating Cindy’s 21st birthday nearly 19 years ago shortly after we started dating. Reminder: I had a Razr and was very cool.

And here’s Matt wearing that same shirt to work a few days ago.

Took a trip for a long weekend to see my mom in Minnesota to continue my support of the new Borealis line.

Ate at Pizza Lucé. Twice in fact!

Spent a few nights at my mom’s house with my nephew. The YouTube… kids are not alright. We did go mini golfing though which was a lot of fun.

Managed to pull nephew away from the tv a little bit for drawing which was good.

Went to the first ever Tonka Pride on a very weird, sad for Minnesota and confused Italian Ice for Italian Soda. I should say a lot more about that, but this blog of my thoughts is no place for reflection!

Some more drawing.

Went to a drag show at CanCan Wonderland featuring Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Charli XCX. Brat Summer Lives!!!!

I met Taber!!

The Twin Cities continues to be completely burnt to the ground.

And back to Chicago for a few weeks before driving back to Minnesota for CONvergence and our annual Duluth trip.

Hi Bud!
