SD 2,411-2,431: Wave goodbye to Halloween and blue wave hello to November!

Another hectic few weeks but managed to escape the house a couple of times. Went out on a school night at 10 to see You Can See Everything and what I saw was me staring back at me.

Truth! Art! What is “real”? Who knows! Who cares! What’s important is there’s a 30% chance that it’s already raining!

I went and saw Rebecca Black at House of Blues for her Exhibition on Tour tour. She’s like a real real musician now. I unfortunately am a terrible person with a soft spot for Friday which she’s moved beyond and didn’t perform but it was a fantastic show regardless.

Then I ventured to Salt Shed for The Dresden Dolls. I confess I still love them and Amanda very much. She addressed the elephant in the room or at least spoke around it much more than I expected. I cried. She covered Hurt. I’d opted for VIP tickets for the first time and I must say I do really like Salt Shed as a venue. Just saw that I missed an Orville Peck show there last night which I’m annoyed about. I really want to see him perform.

Oh and the most important part about the Dolls show was the disco ball.

Amanda’s voice was rough, which has been a theme across several of the shows I’ve seen, but she was still able to power through to an incredible degree.

Went to brunch at Same Day Cafe with Andy and Barrett for the first time which was delicious and need to drag Matt and Dane to.

For Halloween Derek invited me to a Tumblr meme themed party so I got to spend some time in the ball pit.

I want to go to Sidetracks.

We’re xtranormal.

And then true spooky season… the election. Most difficulty I’ve ever had voting. Went before 8am and the polling place ran out of paper ballots. I went back after 3:30 and they were out again. I ended up going to the NEIU early voting site which is an interesting location to get to on foot but made it through after only a bit of a wait to use their electronic machines which I’d not used in a very long time.

And then after a long night, Dane and Derek wore the same shirt. The end.

I should probably take down the Halloween decorations soon.
