I need to stop painting in the dark, as the tonal values are a bit effed. As well as some other things.. I'll keep painting on cardboard until I feel ready to do something real again.

I've decided that if I'm not going to be employed, I might as well practice my art and shit. Not sure why it took me five months to actually start on this…

I just have to get back to the skill level I was at a year ago in school. I miss college.

That is all.

Aaaaagh. Franken is ahead by a little more than 2,000 with 98% reporting. Fingers crossed. Prop 8 is 52% to 48% with 69% reporting.

69. That's a good sign.

Matt and I decided to go downtown to check out the festivities and were following a stream of people over a bridge into Grant Park around 10:30 when suddenly the crowd started sprinting to the left where a jumbotron was.

We ran after them through the trees to stop in the crowd and watch McCain concede. We then headed to more screens closer to the lake to watch Obama give his acceptance speech. Being there and screaming “yes we did” with the crowd made me feel legitimately patriotic for the first time in my adult life.

And then I went home to stay up and watch Prop 8 pass and Franken lose to Coleman. Most likely.

Yes we did. Now to finish the job.

There's so much in pictures for sad children that I can only hope to aspire to.

Namely being disaffected and in grad school.

Or making jokes about David Foster Wallace's suicide.

No real movement on the job front, but at least I've had time to post a ridiculous amount of inane videos to YouTube. The video quality is starting to get to me, so maybe it is time to look into Vimeo.
